Guests from 33 S F T Carberry visited, bus schedule updated, egg grading station to close Sept 19, and Whist Drive for War Work Fund planned. Tivoli Theatre shows 49th Parallel for three nights as a six star drama.
A Tag Day event in MacGregor Saturday promotes War Savings Stamps and Certificates. Miss Canada volunteers, supported by the Finance Committee Britannia Chapter and ICCE members, will canvass streets and businesses to back Canada’s war effort ahead of the Victory Loan drive starting October 19.
The Coming Victory Loan campaign in North Norfolk lists Mr Garland as Chairman and Mr H R Hooper as Secretary. Mr J P MacKinnon is Vice Chairman with convenors named for districts Bagot MacGregor Duff Lamb Duff and Sidney Alton. Canvassers and sub committees to be appointed.
A demonstration by Winnipeg representatives is planned for the MacGregor Rink this day afternoon with the exact hour to be announced. All boys interested in joining the local Air Cadets are urged to attend with a parent and inviting collegiate staff committee members and instructors to participate or observe.
Dance in MacGregor Kink on Friday September 25 with music and a 50 cent admission that includes lunch. Cattle and horses sale to be held September 23 on the PH Bream farm two miles northwest of MacGregor. Miss Dorothy Lamb and Miss Phyllis Lye left for Winnipeg this week with best wishes from The Herald for their studies at Normal School and St John's College.
