Residents share visits and travels with friends in Winnipeg and Ontario. Local church events outline Sunday program Let Me Alone and a 2 p.m. Sunday School. The Austin Community Theatre announces fall shows starting September first with nightly times and weekend performances.
The Patriotic Club hosted Austin servicemen on August 24 at the Austin Community Hall. Reeve Duff called the crowd to order after an hour of dancing. Mrs. Blaine read a Home Welcome address and wallets were presented to nineteen named recipients by Mrs. Cyril Randall. Music followed by the Wellwood Orchestra.
Eva Mildred Simpson and William P. Bowie exchanged vows at a double ring ceremony on August 28 at 7 pm in Greenwood United Church Winnipeg. Rev J E Jones officiated with music by Mrs A C Mitchell and soprano Olga Irwin. The couple plans a honeymoon at an East Coast summer resort.
In loving memory of Beverley Anne who died September 3 1943. In peaceful sleep her memory we shall always keep. Sadly missed by Mummy Daddy and Bernice.
