Destiny and duty pull Jean between Blaise and Nesta
Jean recalls a past of longing and imagined voices as Destiny's warning calls her to choose between following Blaise or sending him to Nesta. A moment of inner clarity reveals no neutral middle ground and a vow to hold to duty despite the pain of potential loss. The scene ends with an abrupt recognition of a remembered voice.
