Farmers Union Opposes Lifting of Restrictions
The National Farmers Union told the Board of Grain Commissioners at a hearing that removing restrictions on foreign grain handling would hinder the Canadian Wheat Board and could impair its ability to market and export grain. It urged preserving reserved space in eastern Canada terminals and maintaining preferential treatment for Canadian grain at publicly owned facilities funded with public money.
