CBC Winnipeg TV to shift from Channel 4 to 3 early next year
CBWT Winnipeg will move from Channel 4 to Channel 3, costing about 60 000 dollars to improve reception southwest of Winnipeg. Interference from KXJB-TV Valley City, North Dakota on Channel 4 prompts the change. No power or transmitter changes, and city viewers see little impact while rural areas gain improved reception with Channel 3. Valley City is 200 miles away and fringe-area interference is common on flat terrain. Viewers simply tune to Channel 3. no antenna adjustments needed.
