Citizens gather at the MacGregor United Church cenotaph at 11 to honor war dead. A wreath laying follows the two minute silence and a service led by Rev. Aille. The MacGregor Chamber of Commerce schedules its annual meeting tonight at 8 o'clock in the Legion Room of MacGregor Memorial Hall. Officers for the coming year will be nominated, plans for the Santa Claus parade discussed, and a review of the year’s activities. Members are urged to attend.

Rural hotels may choose 9 am to 1 am with varying closings. most urban venues expect the extra hour. The plan aims to curb production costs and shift quotas for laying hens and egg producers amid new provincial policies.
RCMP report a fatal tractor accident about 20 miles north of Ashern. Mervin Gordon Gabbes, 18, was driving his farmer’s tractor around 6:30 Thursday when it rolled off the road and caught fire believed caused by an oil leak. The incident occurred near Ashern.
