Entries include memorials for Dorothy Ince Morris and Doreen Patterson with family tributes, followed by numerous sale and rental offerings, tenders, and public notices across MacGregor and surrounding Manitoba towns.
MacGregor locals note Rev R Smalley of Kingston Ontario assisting at Sydenham United church with no pastor until June. A member celebrated her 101st birthday. Rev Tom Rees from London England preaches in Kingston and district drawing large crowds. New minister Rev JA Davidson writes for Church Observer. Several couples attended a Winnipeg wedding. Lord's Day Alliance speaker C A Hill visits multiple United churches. Irregular items include clothing sale May 8 at Norfolk School and weekend Winnipeg visits by Kane family.
Hartfold area residents hosted weekend guests including Mr and Mrs A Gourley and family and Mr and Mrs H Armstrong in Portage. Winnipeg visitors G Cleaver and family and Melvin Rintoul from Oakville joined T Rintoul’s household. 4H Achievement Night at Rossendale drew district ladies for a pleasant evening. J Bodie and family were welcomed to the district. Harold Armstrong leaves for the west coast with D Morrey and Don Taylor party. W Pilkington celebrates 18th anniversary on May 1.

Thieves stole two automobiles Sunday night in the district. A car owned by G. Graham of Sidney was taken to MacGregor and abandoned. A second car owned by Dennis McMahon was later found in a ditch near Headingley after being taken from a hospital parking area during a midnight shift. RCMP located the vehicle around 5 am and notified the McMahon family. The McMahon sister-in-law did not know the car had been stolen. The car suffered minor damage.
After five weeks of pursuit police captured Paul ine Stocker on larceny charges. She was located working in the canteen at Scotland Yard, ending a tense manhunt across the city.
The Beaver Community Club executive met on May 1 and organized a cleanup bee for the building and grounds. Volunteers are asked to meet at the school on Tuesday May 9 at 1:30 pm to assist. Committee members Chas Rogers Percy Smith and Wallace Stone request any extra chairs be donated to the club.
The MacGregor Chamber of Commerce will hold its regular meeting next Thursday May 8 at 8 pm in the Legion room of MacGregor Memorial Hall. All members urged to attend due to important items on the agenda.
Church notices list Calvary Tabernacle services on Sunday May 7 at 3:15 pm with Sunday School and Monthly Missionary Service on Tuesday May 9 at 8 pm. St Pauls MacGregor shows services at 10 am and 11:15 am, while Christ Church Austin has a morning service at 10:15 am on Sunday May 9.
Bethel Church schedules a Friday night youth service at 8 pm with young people from Bethel Temple Brandon in charge bringing a lively program for local youth audience.
A church notice lists Sunday at United Church Sidney Mam with Sunday School in the morning and a church service in the afternoon at United Church Austin.
