Wolfe rink wins club championship

Ken Wolfe and his rink Dennis Beaudin Elmer Cairns and Russ Cairns defeated Don Barber Andy Tait Dallas Barber and Doug Davey to win the MacGregor Men's Curling Club Championship. Wolfe led most of the final and stole two points for the tie, then clinched on the extra end as the Barber-Smith team took the other semifinal. The club plans a year-end meeting social and a six-event bonspiel starting March 9 with 64 entries. A 1:00 p.m. Friday draw features pipe Major Hugh MacPherson plus four Scottish regalia dressed players. Hans Feucker will perform with accordion at luncheon. an open dance follows Friday night.

MacGregor Lions 8 and under honors birthday and visits

Henry Wiebe was surprised by family for her birthday on a Friday evening. Sunday dinner guests included Abe Wiebe and family. After noon visitors were Abe Dyck and Marion Dyck of Winnipeg and Tina Wall. Wayne Nichol and Michelle returned from a 10 day Alberta trip visiting Edmon ton Jasper Lake Louise and Banff and Calgary. Doug McGregor Cindy were guests of Terry Longstreet and family. Mary Letkeman of Brandon University stayed with her parents to practicum teach at St Augustine School Brandon. Idle Miles Away notes the car idling figure of 2 000 miles yearly.
