Local meetings, church services, and social events outlined for the Katrime area. Dominion Day holiday closures affect the LO B A and local businesses while sermons address war and faith. Social gatherings include dances, stock judging practice, and piano exams with mentions of residents traveling to Winnipeg, Toronto, and Vancouver.
The North Norfolk and District Branch of the Canadian Legion will meet at Westbourne on Monday July 6 at 830 PM.
Decoration Day will be observed at MacGregor Beaver and Katrime on Sunday July Sth with service at the MacGregor cenotaph at 1 30 p m and marches to nearby cemeteries. Rev G L Armstrong and Rev S R McLeod will deliver addresses. Canadian Legion and ex service men urged to attend and assemble at the Fair grounds at 1 p.m.
The L.OL. will convene in the Orange Hall on Wednesday July 1 at 8 p.m. Members are urged to attend and discuss upcoming events and arrangements for the summer season.
The annual event sponsored by Poplar Leafs Club occurs Friday July 3 at 5 miles south of MacGregor featuring mens baseball mens and ladies softball, school teams, horse shoes and a dance. A silver tea benefiting the Gimli Fresh Air Fund will be at Mrs. S R McLeod's home July 2 from 3 to 6 pm with donations of eggs and cookies requested.
