Austin WMS 70th Anniversary Marks Long History
Sixty ladies signed the guest book at the United Church hall for the Austin Women’s Missionary Society anniversary on June 16. The WMS began in 1890 under Brandon Presbytery, later joining Portage Presbytery. President Mrs. Alex Duncan, secretary Miss Alice Cunningham, and treasurer Miss M. Hall led a program with readings, a memorial service for 26 deceased members, corsages for surviving past presidents, solos by Mrs. J. Gilmour and Mrs. J. Durward, and a tea luncheon.

Hartford W A meets at Mrs. Stark home notes results
The Hartford W A held its June meeting at Mrs. Stark's home with 11 members and one visitor. Devotional portions, prayers, readings, and a story titled Glimpses of God were shared. Bazaar proceeds totaled 101.33 with expenses 10.45, donations planned to MacGregor Hospital 20, Children's Aid 20, WMS 15, Unitarian Service 10. Lunch followed. Several local residents visited or traveled, including Gordon Wright returning home from Fort William, and others attending events in Neepawa and Winnipeg.

Dedication Ceremonies At Austin United Church
Large congregations attended both morning and evening services at the Austin United Church for dedication ceremonies. Rev W Hogman presided at the morning dedication and Rev Harland conducted the furnishings dedication including gifts and memorials. Eighteen pews an electric organ two communion tables pulpit and pulpit bible folding door choir loft cross and rose bowl were gifts or in memory of longtime worshippers. Rev Bruce Johnson preached at both services. Choir solos and duets were performed by Miss M Peck Miss Louise Stephenson Mrs J Gilmour and others. After worship a social hour featured a life of the church review by Mrs T Poyser and refreshments served by the ladies.
