Park Wheat Not for Manitoba
A. L. D. Martin of the Manitoba Department of Agriculture and Conservation warns that the Park wheat variety should not be grown in Manitoba due to rust risk. Park is an early maturing alternative to Saunders and Thatcher, best suited to north-central and northern Alberta and northern Saskatchewan. It is high yielding with good milling and baking qualities, with limited suitable growing areas. About 8,000 bushels of pedigreed seed should be available for 1964 planting from an initial 276 bushels released to selected seed growers.
