Rose Mushynski of Ethelbert arrives in MacGregor to assume duties as nurse for the Portage Health Unit, succeeding Nurse Anderson who retired at end of June. Mushynski trained at Dauphin General Hospital and joined the Manitoba Health Unit two and a half years ago. Her office is at the hospital and she lives with Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Irwin. The community welcomes her and hopes she enjoys the work.

Mrs Z Doucette of Austin Dies Suddenly at 69
Mrs Annie Lavinia Doucette aged 69 of Austin died Friday morning July 23 1954 after a brief heart ailment. Born in Ontario November 27 1884 she endured many losses including fire cyclone and tragedy before moving to Manitoba and settling near Austin. Survived by husband two sons William and Albert one brother Jos Pinkerton and predeceased by her parents and a sister. Funeral Monday July 26 at 11 in St Augustine Church with burial in Austin cemetery. McKillops Funeral Home Portage la Prairie in charge. Card of thanks for condolences and flowers.

MacGregor marks 84th birthday of Andrew Tait born July 30 1870 in St James Manitoba. He came to the community at age 24 and lived there ever since. Married Annie Burge in 1889 they farmed until 1945 then retired to town. Eight daughters four sons twenty nine grandchildren thirteen great grandchildren. He enjoys family visits and good health.
