Annual School Meeting at MacGregor District
The MacGregor School District held its annual meeting Monday with about a dozen ratepayers. Nelson Smith was chairman and G E Lewin secretary. Trustees R D Muir H I Collins and H A Lye were re elected. H T Trethewey named for one year replacing J A Gray who could not attend. Financial report showed receipts and expenditures including salaries fuel and debentures. W Cockburn of Manitoba Power Commission spoke on lighting and approved fluorescent lighting for seven rooms and corridors basements.

Britannia Chapter Honors Pioneer Members
At the Britannia Chapter LODE meeting on July 2 a So Memoriam service honored Mrs F M Berry a charter member and S Snow a twenty five year member who died last week. Mrs Hay spoke of Berry's key role in organizing the chapter in October 1914 and presented a Life Membership certificate. A traveling cafe gift and a hard painted album were given to Miss Alison Munro of Maciegor public school staff. Games races and lunch followed.

War Savings Stamp Drive Thrills Tivol Theatre Crowd
In Canada the Tivol theatre hosted a War Savings Stamp Drive with every seat filled. Britannia ter sponsored the local campaign and $102.05 was raised. J R McNeely chaired the event with speeches by AV Judd and Rev McLeod leading singing. Sie T D Lamb, theatre manager, thanked participants and referenced Dominion-wide cinema sponsorship by the Motion Picture Industry of Canada.

Bagot community notes include school meeting and Red Cross gifts
Bagot grade school trustees saw R E Walden resign and S E Nichol elected to fill the term. Local residents donated to the Portage la Prairie hospital Red Cross, including gowns, jackets, bandages, socks and quilts. A lawn social on the community grounds drew a large crowd with WMS hosting a varied program, and Burnside beat Bagot 15 to 14 in a softball clash.
