The Carberry Summer Fair July 16th and 17th offers $3,000 in prizes and good stock exhibits, with Baseball Tournament on the 17th. Nearby visits include Miss A Tupper in Kenora with the Bowie family and many shuttling headlines from Winnipeg, Brandon, Vancouver, and Ontario.
Tivoli theatre will cooperate with Canada wide War Savings Stamp Drive on Monday July 15 offering a free MacGregor show at 8 pm with musical items and addresses. Admission is free but patrons buy two 25 cent War Savings Stamps, later to fund a $1 Baby Bond. Britannia Chapter ICDE sponsors a patriotic local event urging attendance.
The MacGregor School District holds its annual meeting at the school on Monday July 15 at 8 p m The financial report and other business will be discussed Four trustees are to be elected three for two years and one for one year replacing Mr J A Gray who has missed meetings The terms expiring belong to Messrs R D Muir H J Collins and H A Lye Mr J P MacKinnon has another year to complete his term of office.
Phyllis Lye scored 90 percent in grade II theory and Glenn Lye achieved 80 percent in grade III practical at the Toronto Conservatory of Music. Both pupils study under Miss Neilson in Carberry.
Mrs M Harper visits Delta this week with Mr and Mrs Lloyd Caswell. The 1.C.D work meeting is Friday July 12 from 2 to 5 pm in the United Church Annex. Gerald Marsh, recently teaching northeast of Winnipeg, has enlisted in the Signal Corps. At Shoal Lake hospital on July 1 a daughter was born to Mr and Mrs D A Adamson nee Janet Lamb. Mr and Mrs Lisle Patterson of Chambers SK are holidaying with the former's parents. Aileen M Donald daughter of James A Shaw and Mrs Shaw of 314 Church Ave Winnipeg married Ver Goodman in Winnipeg on Saturday July 6.
