Prairie Duck Brood On Decline
June survey finds water conditions favorable in northern prairie Parklands but southern habitats remain poor. Brood production on southern prairies expected to be well below recent years. Nesting success hindered by exposed mud flats. Canada Geese show strong brood prospects. Atlantic breeding pairs high with better nesting. British Columbia marshes expect above average duck and goose production due to limited flooding.
