Bagot Beef Club 4-H Bonspiel Winners Named at MacGregor rink
The Bagot Beef Club hosted its first 4-H bonspiel at MacGregor rink January 18 with 12 rinks. Prizes were awarded to Beaver Beef Club and Bagot Beef Club teams in two events, with multiple clubs from Portage, Rossendale, and MacGregor also participating and thanked for prizes. Ladies Bonspiel Begins February 9 at MacGregor Curling Club
The MacGregor ladies curling club starts their annual Bonspiel on Sunday Monday and Tuesday February 9 10 and 11 with three events and cash prizes per event. Entry is $12 per rink. Entries due by 6 p.m. Friday February 7 to Helen Barton or Audrey Bender by phone. The event attracts rinks from across the district and organizers expect strong turnout again this year.

Norman Nicoll of Carberry spent a few days at his parental home. Get well wishes to Laurie Donald, who was taken to Portage hospital on Thursday. Mrs. James Watson visited Jim in Portage hospital last Monday, and was a supper guest of Mrs. W. Tucker. Mr. and Mrs. Joel Tomehuk attended a wedding in Winnipeg Saturday evening. Kelly spent the weekend with Arthur Halliday and Brett stayed with Jimmy Neufeld. Mr. and Mrs. B. Nicholl of Winnipeg were Saturday overnight visitors with Mr. and Mrs. John Watson Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Pennell and Nyle of MacGregor were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. W. Bieganski and family. Mr. and Mrs. H. Schroeder and Mr. and Mrs. J. Fisher attended the funeral of their aunt in Winnipeg on Thursday. School was closed three days last week due to roads being blocked by blizzard conditions. The district was saddened by the sudden passing of Charles Duke Chapman. The district extends sympathy to the relatives. Mr. and Mrs. C. Forzley and family spent last weekend in Winnipeg. Pat McCulloch of Winnipeg spent the weekend at his parental home. John Nicoll visited in Winnipeg one day last week with his sister, Mrs. A. Botterill. Deepest sympathy to Wilbert Armstrong and to Mr. and Mrs. W. Neufeld and family in the death of Wilbert's and Dorothy's brother at Dauphin. A number of men from the district are enjoying the elk hunt in the Duck Mountains.
