Manitoba wheat suffers heavy losses from weeds pests and plant diseases. One twelfth of annual wheat wagon loads are lost to illness and about one fifth of potatoes is lost. Black stem rust and other diseases reduce yields. Crop rotation and cultivation help control these factors, and farmers should study relevant literature for solutions.
The club reports lively curling with 4 players per rink since the season opened. Everinks joins the ladies schedule as Io competition progresses, and the President of Vice Present event ends 72 to 96 in favor of the former. In the Irmin cup final Rev T J Pearson against Mac MacKing00 ends with MacKing00 winning. winning rink includes B A Speating D A Shaw W A Niblock and M E MacKinnon skip. The Hockey Club extends thanks for support at the dance and to those who donated cakes and sandwiches.

Remember the Concert Supper and Dance drew over sixty attendees in the Hall on Friday night January 22. The Young People s Bible Class hosted the event two hours of music and dancing. A Saturday hockey game between Edwin and Bagot Juniors finished 2 2 after overtime with Eddie Nichol scoring both Bagot goals in period two and Edwin replying twice in period three, goalkeeper George Kelly noted for Bagot, one penalty given by official Keele.

The International Intercollegiate Ski Jumping trophy event on December 20 in Quebec drew teams from McGill Loyola Ottawa Montreal Yale and Laval despite bitter cold. W B Thompson of McGill posted the longest jump while J Beauvais of Loyola earned the top points for form. Isabel Coursier showcased a high flying display and Ivind Nelson set a Canadian jumping record as Loyola won the trophy.
