Farewell Presentations By The Young Ladies Bridge Club

The Young Ladies Bridge Club hosted Miss Verna Peterson on Wednesday as she departs Monday for Winnipeg to train for a nurse at Children’s Hospital, receiving a Parker pen and pencil set. Mrs H A Lye and Miss Selma Peterson threw a later bridge and handkerchief shower for Verna, prizes won by Mrs Fotheringham and Mrs McNeely, with an eye and nose bandaging contest adding fun before a closing lunch. Verna Peterson and Elizabeth Irwin, granddaughter of Mr and Mrs W B Merrick, leave Monday to train as nurses, with friends wishing them success.
