The Local Bonspiel Opens with Twenty Rinks At Play

The local bonspiel opened Monday with twenty rinks and eighty curlers. Forty five games had been played by last night, leaving teams such as Sutherland, Lye, R. E. Lye, H. A., Wright, Orchard, MacKinnon, Williamson, McLeod, Lamb Bros., Saunders in the four leading divisions Grand Challenge Gold Standard Citizens. A Novelty bonspiel is expected to start around Thursday the 27th. A curlers meeting will be held Friday at 8 30 p.m. at the rink.

Legion Bridge Play Seeks Participants for Austin District

Forty players currently compete in Austin district Legion Bridge play as committee hopes other districts finish soon to allow final games before seeding. Entries for MacGregor play-off to Lewin or MacKinnon by noon Monday the 24th, listing partner if paired, to join the draw.

Public notice from MacGregor dated February 12 1936 calls for two weed inspectors for North Norfolk for 1936. Each inspector receives 575.00. positions split East and West halves. Wes Tilt and Mother Die on Same Day

Mrs Emily Tilt 38 of Mac Gregor and her mother Mrs Emily Lloyd 75 of Fork River died within four hours on Thursday February 13. Tilt died en route to Dauphin hospital after visiting Fork River. Tilt leaves four children James Helen George and Joan, plus father and siblings. The double funeral was held at Fork River on Saturday as the community offered sympathy.

Chilliwack Woman Sends Winter Weather Note to Mackenzie

In a Herald letter from Mrs. A H Kilfoyle of Chilliwack BC she reports very cold weather and high winds in January and asks to be remembered to friends in and around MackGregor.
