The Bagot Bonspiel concluded last week with prizes in Grand Challenge Citizens Farmers Curling Club and other categories. Winners include A McKay Burns.de Geo Kelly W Bon davoline Oil and J Renwick Dresser Lamps. Cash donors across Portage and Beaver supported prizes and meals for all participants.
Roy Barber of Portage who visited his home over the weekend is noted in Katrime. Roy McLachlan is the latest casualty ill with mumps. A Whist Drive and Zagee are scheduled at Katrime on Friday February 3.
Mrs Walker and Albert Hesel wood visited Austin Sunday with Mr and Mrs Bert Heselwood. A church service is planned Sunday Feb 17 at 2 30 pm. Mel Dagg of the RCAF. Winnipeg was a weekend visitor at the Cooper home. Mr and Mrs Jimmy Morris of MacGregor visited the Grove home Sunday. Mr and Mrs Geo Green of Portage visited Thursday with Mr and Mrs J Howell. The Good Neighbors Club meets for quilting at the Hall on Wednesday Feb 20 at 2 30 pm. Everyone is welcome. Nine Katrime men are curling in the MacGregor Bonspiel this week. Mrs Riley returned home from Portage Hospital and is recuperating at home. Mr and Mrs Art Groves were Sunday visitors with Mr and Mrs Geo Bull. Mrs Thomas returned home with them. Katrime hockey players omitted from last week's Gladstone games are Tip Scott and Doug Barber. Apologies to Jack Clarke and Tommy Payne for reporting errors. The teacher and school children held another skating party Friday night at Katrime rink, well attended. Lunch at the Heselwood home ended the evening. Mr and Mrs Con Brugger and children were guests of Mr and Mrs Dick Brugger of Franklin on Friday, for Con’s parents wedding anniversary. Mr and Mrs B W Gilbert of MacGregor visited Russell Gilbert on Wednesday for their 34th wedding anniversary. Maureen Cooper returned to school in MacGregor Thursday after being home with flu. Joyce Dankesrell visited Maureen over the weekend. Visitors to Mr and Mrs F McLachlan included Mr and Mrs B Freeborn of Golden Stream on Friday, Mr and Mrs Vic Rehill of Winnipeg for the weekend, and on Sunday Mr and Mrs Harold Sears of Petrol and Mr and Mrs Bob Armstrong of Carberry.
