Local Curling Notes and Community Happenings
Local curlers from across the country gathered as six rinks spent Monday in cooler weather. A street shinny scene after dark drew young players, and drivers are urged to slow for safety. The piece references hockey playdowns, a billiards event with Masako Katsura, and a humorous note about Bill Shaw in Miami. Town sports saw Portage defeated 7 to 10 in an exhibition hockey game, with spring preparations and farm-tenancy changes shaping the rural scene.
