Annex Opens At United Church In Portage District Ceremony
Opening ceremonies mark the new Annex to the United Church with Sunday and Tuesday night services drawing capacity crowds. Rev McLeod praised the 1950 pioneers, noting the need for more space as the congregation advances spiritual and social life. The Tuesday event featured Knox United Church’s Rev Abernethy and local dignitaries performing music and delivering an inspiring address. A fundraising push to clear the remaining 500 and a mantel clock gift to John Ormiston highlighted the festive evening.
