Central Plains Plans Narrow Priority Program for 1971
Central Plains Inc will emphasize a specific program in 1971, moving away from broad expansion. Clarence Riach urges a priority list and concrete industry focus, notably agriculture or food processing, with research and promotion by Riach and Wayne Pander to yield tangible results. Board supports targeted efforts while maintaining routine inquiries and restructuring to boost regional development. A bylaw amendment to add a Portage la Prairie member is proposed, with quarterly meetings in rural municipalities and an emphasis on securing knowledgeable ex officio contributors.
