MacGregor 1966 News Highlights
MacGregor’s 1966 notes cover a train accident death of James Whalen at Portage on April 30, with his wife and two children hospitalized. Through May and June the district hosted a CGLT tea, a Manitoba flag ceremony, a W.S. convention, bake sale, and a six week dental clinic project with the University of Manitoba. The month saw heavy snow, rising temps, school events, a provincial election, and community celebrations including fairs, 4-H, and the Neufeld-Hodge wedding. The summer brought hot drought, harvest progress, new doctors, community gatherings, and the passing of longtime residents. The year closes with fall activity, weddings, School openings, and Market Day Tea.
