Christmas tree and concert in Austin Friday
Austin Tre Austin Christmas tree and concert will be held on Friday, December 23. Several local residents are noted visiting or returning home from hospitals and trips. Thieves again entered Hon. W. Chitford’s general store and post office, stealing a small sum and goods valued around 35 dollars. Mrs. E Roberts of Brock is ill but improving, with family members gathered at home in support.

Longtime resident Robert Bergquist dies at 66 after a swift illness. Born in Sweden, he settled in Canada in 18M and served as a respected farmer and school official. Funeral held at Elmwood with many local mourners attending. he left a devoted wife and five children.

A Winnipeg man named Thomas Woods, a naturopath, died suddenly Monday evening at the home of Mr. F Southworth north of town during a ten day visit. He was 14 and survived by a family of five. Medical aid arrived too late.
