Still for Bush man and Miners Winnipeg
J F Kristjansson agricultural adviser to the Unemployment Insurance Commission in Winnipeg says unskilled and semi skilled workers in Prairie packing houses and base metal mines are employed and jobs are not available to farmers. He notes urgent needs for agricultural workers in lumber and pulpwood camps and smaller needs in Saskatchewan and Alberta mining areas. He urges workers to contact Employment and Selective Service or provincial farm labour service for information rather than crowding cities. He adds livestock stockyard congestion in the Prairies is not due to farmer reluctance but to an earlier appeal for help in packing houses, which has filled Winnipeg plants.
