Local skaters to compete in Manitoba figure championships
Entries received from Sandra and Brent Gilbert of MacGregor for the Manitoba sectional championships at Century Arena Fort Garry on December 3 and 4. Both belong to Portage Figure Skating Club. Sandra age 10 enters juvenile ladies singles and novice dance with Blake Miller as partner. Sandra has passed first figure test and senior bronze dance. Friends Honor Shirley Anderson at Miscellaneous Shower
Shirley Anderson was honored at a miscellaneous shower Monday evening November 8 at MacGregor United Church hall. She was escorted to her place of honor by Judy Bieganski and family members while hostesses dressed as railroaders presented gifts and Joan Henry read humorously. Shirley and her mother gave thanks, all sang My Best to You with Bev MacDonald on piano, and lunch by hostesses wrapped a pleasant evening.
