A collage of local visitors and relatives across MacGregor area includes ileal and Mrs RD Collier in Killarney, Alma Stewart returning to Red Lake Ont, Frank Bogue near Kenora, and Grace Wright visiting Winnipeg. Many families host guests from Souris, Pilot Mound, Rossendale, Niagara Falls and Belmont while announcements celebrate births, travels to Milwaukee and Chicago, and summer trips to Regina, Saskatoon, and Clear Lake.
Peter Millar retires as Commissioner of the Manitoba Telephone System after long service since 1945. The retirement takes effect September 1 with advisory role on rates until December 11. James F. Mills of Siemens Brothers Canada Limited will succeed him, bringing a Winnipeg upbringing and a 1926 Siemens start.
In 1896 he left Siemens for the Manitoba Telephone System where he served in 1952. In 1945 Mr Mills was named Chief Engineer for MTS and in 1948 was appointed Assistant General Manager. In 1952 he returned to the Siemens Brothers plant as Vice President and Director. He has been President of the company since last January.
