Farewell Sermons for McLeod Before RCAF Chaplaincy
United Church minister McLeod concludes seven years of service in Beaver Bagot and MacGregor with farewell sermons before reporting to the Royal Canadian Air Force as chaplain in Toronto on May 1. He is praised as an able speaker and a sympathetic pastor who engaged in the life and welfare of all ages. The Herald joins friends in wishing him God speed in service to King and Country. Mrs. Waters and Phillip return to New Westminster after a visit with relatives. Birthday wishes go to Mrs. James Moore on her 75th and to W. J. Turner on his 82nd. F. C. Borton conducted a successful stock sale for Thos ke last Thursday drawing many buyers from outside areas. Holstein cattle sold well from 85 to 115 dollars. Mr Shey of St Boni Face bought over 600 dollars worth. Mr and Mrs Clarke retire from farming after eighteen years and move to town, taking Mr M Thompson's house and property. Clarke becomes book-keeper for C. W. Lye & Son Ltd.
