Grasshopper battle looms across prairie provinces this spring
Austin reports a sweeping grasshopper campaign across Manitoba Saskatchewan and Alberta as $750000 is spent on pest control. Premier plans include poisoned bran dust and coordinated local committees with sawdust and arsenite to protect 2 000 000 acres in Manitoba 1 200 committees in Saskatchewan and 3 500 000 acres in Alberta. Meadowlarks and robins are returning as spring begins.
