Public Insurance Plan Links Benefits To No Fault System
The public insurance plan will offer supplementary options in competition with private firms. Deductibles drop to 100 or 50 dollars per peril, third party liability rises to 100000 or 200000, and a computerized form will streamline basic and optional coverages. Motorists may see a 15 percent overall reduction for equivalent coverage, with two semi annual payment options likely. A transitional assistance board is planned by May 1 to aid agents shifting into auto insurance, including government guaranteed refinancing.
