Everson Man Purchases Noted Hound Keno After Court Fight
Robert Bowles of Lynden sold the celebrated hound Keno to F. X Marks of Everson ending a lengthy court dispute. Witnesses testified Keno was born in Everson, while Bowles claimed the dog’s value at over twenty dollars. Bowles retains ownership after a prior ruling, with Keys assessing a market value near three dollars.

Funeral Services for Herman Sass Held at Lynden Home
Funeral services for the late Herman Sass were conducted Sunday at the family residence in Lynden. Rev. Paul Ashby led the ceremony with six pallbearers and a quartet providing music. Sass, born January 1 1850 in Hamburg Germany, immigrated to the U S in 1854 and lived in Sauk City Wisconsin Lake Benton Minnesota and Lynden. He leaves a wife two daughters and several siblings.
