County Budget Tops Total Levy For 1921
The county budget proposes $202 185 to be raised for county expenses next year. The levy will be considered October 3 with calls to cut taxes toward a prewar economy. Last year’s levy was $168 517, leaving a gap of about $38 000. Lynden Man Wins In Referendum Ballot For New Church Here
D W Bender named director of the Washington Co-Operative Egg and Poultry Association succeeding Harry Beernink after a countywide referendum. Lynden residents pressed for local representation as votes showed 224 to 148 in favor of Bender. A five day poultry school will be held, with professors from Washington State College teaching. Dedication services for the Second Christian Reformed Church of Lynden set for Sunday at 8 pm with Pastor candidate E Joling and Rev C Vriesman of Everett assisting. The new building’s basement is complete with plans for a taller upper story. first services were held Sunday. Joling and wife expected in Lynden this week.

E. I. Jacobson of Newton Iowa purchased the interests of E A Wiese in the Pyro Studio this week and has assumed charge of the photographic work. He is an ex service man with a fine reputation for artistic work and served in the Aircraft Service of the AEF. Wiese had owned the studio eight years, having bought it from H C Smallfield. The Ladies Auxiliary of the M E Church met at Mrs Eva Thompsons home. The Klatawa Club met at Miss Martha Knittle's home.

Plan for vote on union high school in Lynden area
Preliminary plans for a December 3 election on establishing a union high school were set at a Lynden meeting with nine districts.
