Registration books close Saturday and a Lynden Primary Day convention will nominate Cline for the legislature under certain conditions. Independents call the meeting, aiming to nominate a candidate who qualifies only if a Republican rival fails. Cline may run if others approve and conditions are met. George W Worthen guardian receives 1080 from Fraternal Union of America as life policy and assessments.
The Washington State Grange urges farmers to vote only for candidates who pledge to support Grange measures including direct initiative referendum recall and local option. Signatories promise to push for direct US Senator election, tariff reform, railroad valuation, interstate regulation, water power leases, and non pork barrel federal spending. Master C B Kegsey signs.

Beckes and Stuart report real estate sales totaling 36 500 in one week. Since the last Tribune issue they sum the purchase of C M Anderson eighty acre ranch by Charles Kelso for 11 800 with fifty acres cleared and improved. The sale includes an 11 room house at 3 000 and over 2 000 in personal property. Kelso takes possession October 15 as Anderson moves to Bellingham. They also sold Knapp Brothers eight acre plot near Badger to Harry L Porter for 4 000, about 15 acres cleared. Knapp Brothers had paid about 1 800 three years earlier to acquire the land.
Lynden triumphs 13 to 9 at the fairgrounds in Bellingham over Bellingham in the opening game of a county championship series. Lynden’s teamwork and endurance carry the win amid grass covered grounds and a small crowd mostly Lynden supporters.
Lynden schools begin a busy year introducing agriculture in the high school optional program along with manual training domestic science music and drawing. A new building will house several grades and upgrades include a modern manual training room outdoor play facilities and updated grounds.
