Lynden High School opens Monday Sept 7 with a three year program expanding from classical English and science. A new physical laboratory, updated library stock, and a new teacher lineup including Miss Pearl Gilkey bring enhanced instruction. Pioneer Lynden resident Mrs. Chas Runyon dies after long illness
Amanda Smith born February 16 1843 died at age 65 after a lengthy illness in Lynden. She married soldier Chas Runyon in 1867 Horton Iowa. Survived by husband three children Mrs Henry Slade Mrs Walter True and Joe Runyon and a large extended family in Lynden and neighboring states. Funeral held Monday with Rev A J Whitfield officiating.
