Parsonage Fire and Robbery Hit Baptist Minister
The Rev. P. H. Davies suffered a burglary and a fire on the same day at his Lynden Baptist parsonage. Thieves took about $12 from a Sunday school bank and a cash box, damaged papers and Bible leaves, and destroyed his ordination certificate and mission commission. A $50 reward is offered for information. The Lynden Volunteer Fire Department saved the building, insured for $800 on the structure and $800 on contents.

A fire last week destroyed the mill building and contents of the South Pass Shingle Company, six miles east of Everson, starting under the mill from a hot box and advancing before water could be applied. The incident follows a potential War order shipment to New York of condensed milk from Everson.
