Lynden Cooperative Store Planned for Rochdale Style Trade

A Lynden area meeting will discuss forming a Rochdale plan co operative selling produce and buying merchandise. The Producers Company based in Bellingham lists F E Allen as president and includes Jos Lopas C E Flint and others as officers and organizers. A second group, likely to open a store at Everson, names W A Reid as treasurer and J D Lin as an officer.

Cow Testing association lecture and meetings planned

State Dairy Inspector L W Hanson will give a free illustrated lecture in Hawley's hall Friday night on Cow Testing benefits. O C Van Houten, a leading dairyman, may speak. A Saturday meeting will complete the organization with no opposition from eight dairymen, government support noted, cost set at one dollar per year per cow. Stump Burning Method Demonstrated by Prof Spark at Lynden

Prof N W Spark of Washington State College demonstrated the harpit stump burning method in Lynden last Saturday. He showed how to prepare a stump with kindling and wood, cover with clay, insert air holes, and burn the roots out. Dozens of landowners attended and trials are expected soon, with cinders offered as an alternative to clay. Bayes plans berry ranch photos and cannery for Lynden

Boy Drowned Near Lynden Slough

Charles Fredrick Winup aged 12 years 6 months 28 days drowned last Saturday while swimming with two brothers near Lynden. Funeral held Monday under Rev. Wilder with many family friends and 15 to 20 schoolmates sending flowers. Charley cramp led to the tragedy as brothers frantically called for help. local man Mr. Knutson responded but could not reach the body.
