County auditor J A Miller releases names of Lynden area registrants by precinct 1 2 3 and towns Lynden Township Precinct 1 2 3 and Delta. An effort to locate those who failed to register continues. Federal judges in New York sentenced three men for evading prison terms and fines. The lists name many individuals by last and first names across Lynden precincts and nearby townships.

Orator to Address Patriotic Gathering at Jamieson’s Opera House

A patriotic meeting is set for Monday at eight at Jamieson's Opera House in Jamieson to discuss U S war preparations. F F Handschy of Bellingham, renowned Northwest orator, will deliver the address on war topics and plans to care for Lynden district boys serving. Lynden band will provide music and admission is free with no collections. Special invite extended to residents registered under the conscription law.

Seven Miles of Pavement Awarded to Vancouver Firm

Seven miles of concrete pavement from Ferndale to the Pleasant Valley schoolhouse will cost Whatcom County 123 566 50 dollars. A contract at this figure was awarded to a Vancouver concern by the county commissioners this week. The concrete will be one course only and will be sixteen feet wide.

Mrs. Martin Munson Dies In Lynden Pioneer Life

Mrs Hanna Munson wife of Martin Munson died at home Monday evening. She moved to Lynden in 1882 and was known for her good deeds and character. Born in Sweden May 28 1882 she is survived by her husband a daughter a granddaughter a grandson two brothers Nels Nelson and A N Shagren. Funeral held Wednesday at two oclock conducted by Rev Paul Ashby. Also notes a Klatawa Club dance invitation and a long list of local residents in Delta Township.

The Music Club presented Lynden Library with books on music and composers before disbanding. Included titles cover famous violinists history of music how to listen to music life stories of great composers celebrated pianists and musical term dictionaries. The library will be open Wednesday and Saturday evenings in July and August.

New Statewide Auto Speed Laws Take Effect

A report outlines that all local auto speed regulations were void after June 6 and state law now governs speed limits.
