The Civil Service Commission announces a July 21 examination in forty Northwest cities to fill stenographer and typewriter positions. Men with typewriter skills are sought for the Quartermaster Corps at $1000 yearly, with women also encouraged to apply for combined stenographer and typewriter tests at $900 to $1000. Dairy Industry Branches To Go Under U S Supervision
Representatives of major dairy and poultry groups after a conference with Herbert Hoover voted to place the industries under the food administration. George B. Haskell of Chicago will head a dairy and poultry division as a voluntary aide to Hoover. A seven member committee from producers manufacturers and distributors will cooperate to conserve supply and set production and price plans for milk cheese butter eggs and poultry. The committee will enforce pledges and discipline violators.
