Guernsey cow owners in Whatcom County will meet Saturday at 2 p m in Lynden Creamery Co offices to form a county association. Professor Sibes from the Puyallup Experiment Station will address the dairymen. The group aims to study breeding and care issues as Guernseys gain popularity nationwide. All dairymen are invited.

Mrs Alfred Thompson and Lois of Portland are visiting the Thompson home. D G Norman was a Sunday dinner guest at the Wm Warner home. Mrs Ferguson of Bellingham weekend guest at the Thompson home. A Arnell and family dined at the Chas Arnell home. Dad Winters is improving at the county hospital. Wm Pettigrew died Thursday evening of acute stomach trouble with funeral at Strandell church. Ray V Cloud traveled to Bellingham Wednesday. Geo Hardison family left for Bel lingham to make their future home. Chas Arnell and daughter Dora were late Sunday dinner guests at the A Arnell home. Mrs Helen Thompson returned from Portland after an extended visit. Lem Groner spent Saturday in Everett. Miss Grace Allen spent last week at the Jas Black home.
Ferndale updates include Miss Helen Monroe leaving for Okanogan City to teach, a Dekateras defeat at Sumas, school closure for heating issues, and a new birth. The Ferndale orchestra held a Saturday dance at K P Hall, while the Parent-Teachers Association met with Dr. Mathes speaking. New city officials were installed and A J Cowden was laid to rest in Woodland cemetery.
The Epworth League conducted a business meeting Monday evening at the home of Miss Bessie Frick, with members discussing club plans and upcoming events.
Mrs Peter Daane died Thursday morning January 20 at 1 o clock. She leaves her husband Peter Daane two daughters Mrs A Bedier and Mrs P Papaguay and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from her late residence at the corner of Edison and Seventh Streets Saturday at 1 pm.
Epworth League announces a New England dinner January 29 in League rooms and asks members to reserve the date. Mrs. Harry Fountain is suffering from tonsillitis.
W H Waples was unanimously reelected president of the 1916 Whatcom County Fair at the stockholders meeting. E Edson was reelected vice president and directors named included E Edson W H Waples Nels Jacobson G Vander Griend A H Frasier T H Smith Will Jackman. By-laws now allow five non resident vice presidents from larger county towns to widen the field.
Mrs. G. T. Schuyleman visited her sisters and friends in Bellingham during the latter part of the week and returned home Saturday evening.
A large amount of ice is being prepared in Lynden for summer. Sunset Dairy owner H Spaan began cutting ice this week and John Vandergacht leads a busy crew of men for the operation.
A Friday January 21 basketball game at the high school gym pits Lynden against Sumas in a closely matched contest. Officials expect a thrilling confrontation with both teams evenly balanced.
