Tear Down Stickney Memorial School in Lynden Island History
The Stickney Indian School a Lynden landmark built in 1893 on land leased from Chief Jim is being demolished after twenty eight years as a district feature. The home funded by Mrs Stickney and the Woman's Home Missionary Society educated Indian children and housed livestock projects before closing in 1909 to form a day school at Central near Goshen.
