Lynden Split In Two Precincts
After January 1 1916 Lynden voters will cast ballots in two precincts with double the usual expense. The county board ordered the division following Chapter 11 Laws 1915 based on Lynden’s 419 votes in the last general election. The first precinct runs from Fifth Street and city limits north to West Main and along the high school boundary east of the line. the second precinct covers the area west of that line.

Rev Brouwer to Bid Lynden Farewell
The Rev J G Brouwer will preach his farewell address to his Lynden congregation Sunday and depart the following week for the jast. The Reformed Church has issued a call to succeed him to the Rev H J Pietenpol of Alto Wisconsin. Brouwer has accomplished much good during his stay and the community laments his departure.

Funeral held for Lynden man Thomas C Handy
Thomas Clyde Handy died at 49 after a two year illness near Lynden. Funeral services were conducted at Mission Church with Rev. Hodges and Rev. Riley, burial in Lynden cemetery. He was born in Dundas Minnesota on September 19 1866 and married Elizabeth Crown in 1890. He leaves a widow five children two sisters and four brothers with two older sons deceased. The Latin Club met December 21 at Viola Gosch’s home with a Santa gift distribution and a candlelit luncheon after a brief program.
