The Lynden mail route will be served by auto stage twice daily starting December 16. Harry M. Mock secured the contract with McInnis and Mock Stage Line handling pickups to and from Bellingham. Mack’s bid was 670 dollars yearly. The schedule has mail arriving at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily except Sunday, leaving at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Rural carriers will wait for the morning mail and the post office will be open Sundays 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

A Sunday evening blaze at 6 o'clock caused considerable damage to an unoccupied house on West Front Street owned by John Leming. The Lynden Fire Department deployed three water streams within twenty minutes of the alarm, but the cause remains undetermined.
