Walter Pixley resigns after years as Lynden water department head to devote full attention to Lynden Welding and Manufacturing Company. He will run the pump until a new superintendent is named as Har ry Saltzgaber plans to move back to Bellingham.

Lynden Sailors Return Home After Long Naval Careers

Neil Taylor and Arthur Stierlen, Lynden residents, were discharged in San Francisco last Friday after long U S Navy service. They traveled from Europe aboard the U S 8 Baltimore, via the Panama Canal, with layovers in Honduras and Costa Rica. Taylor served as a first class fireman on the Baltimore while Stierlen served on the Olympia and did convoy duty in Archangel aboard a Russian destroyer.

Americanism Address Planned at Lynden High School

Judge J. A. Kellogg of Bellingham will deliver an eight o clock talk on Americanism vs Bolshevism at Lynden High School auditorium, with a musical prelude and under American Legion auspices. W. H. Waples leads a local committee in promoting the event, stressing a nationwide conspiracy to overthrow constitutional government and urging citizen attendance. The free address, Monday night, aims to inform the public of the issue facing Americans.

During November six deaths were recorded in Lynden per local registrar Miss Tilda Tromp. The deceased include Willis Case John Slate maker Mrs Aurelia Vander Heide Mrs Bertha De Beeld Mrs Fred Cole and Orion Robinson, the three week old son of Mr and Mrs J R Robinson. Nine births were registered.

The Lynden Chapter of the Eastern Star was entertained by the Bellingham Chapter at the Aftermath Clubhouse last evening. Guests enjoyed cards and dancing during the social gathering.

Miss Ella Mutchler daughter of Mr and Mrs R E Mutchler and Mr Harry Beernink were married Tuesday morning at ten o clock at the residence of Frank Le Cocq justice of the peace. The ceremony was performed in the presence of relatives. They left for Victoria Vancouver and Seattle and will be at home in a new bungalow on Third Street after January 1.
