Logged-off land bill spurs western Washington development plan
The Southwest Washington Settlers' agency leads efforts to colonize around 200 families in Chehalis or Gray's Harbor under a new agricultural development district created by petition. The act allows districts to acquire land, build roads, market products, issue bonds, and finance development with taxes, with preferential purchase rights for settlers after improvement and tract sizes capped at 40 acres.
