Panhandle Fair at Fair Park draws 52,291 third day

The 56th Panhandle Fair drew 52,291 guests on Monday as South Plains crowds filled Fair Park Coliseum. Ex-Lubbock performer Mac Davis attracted strong turnout, contributing to a three day total of 129,636. Bandsmen marched through town to the fairground while livestock barns and midway buzzed with activity. Winners included Jayton Whitharral Sundown and Wilson in Class B, Hale Center Lubbock Christian School Petersburg Springlake Earth in Class A1, Littlefield Abernathy Denver City Floydada in Class AA, and Seminole Levelland Muleshoe in Class AAA.
