Ollie Green, chief executive assistant to Gov. Preston Smith for 18 months, resigns effective Oct. 1 and will return to public relations in Lubbock. He denied links to Smith not seeking re election and emphasized ongoing friendship with the governor as two aides assume new posts.
Barbara Pliskow 37 a part time college instructor was arrested after pulling dynamite and a pistol from a bag aboard a jetliner in Detroit Metropolitan Airport she fought officers as passengers were diverted to safety and faces air piracy charges with a possible life sentence if convicted a preliminary exam was set for Oct 4.
