New Nepal Rules Open Himalaya Expeditions After Ban
Kathmandu Nepal authorities lift a four year ban on climbs above 18 000 feet and impose advance permits royalties and local liaison. Peaks higher than 20 000 feet now require reports to headmen and licensed Sherpas before expeditions proceed. Everest travel time drops from 21 days to six with Lukla air access.
