Death of Young Musician Under Investigation
A 24 year old Austin man identified as Jerry Randolph East was shot to death in a car on U S Highway 84 east of the Tohoka Circle Saturday afternoon. A .25 caliber pistol was found in the car and a parrifin test indicated East fired the gun himself. The shooting occurred after East rode with Leroy Clifford Shelton who drove the car then waited while East called his wife. East’s former wife confirmed a call from Lovington. The district attorney and Justice of the Peace are investigating with East pronounced dead from a gunshot wound. See SHOT Page 10.
