The Hub Homes defense housing complex in Lubbock opens with first tenants moving in Friday and Saturday. The $500,000 10 acre project near MacKenzie State Park will house 130 families with rents from $25 to $29 and includes furnished units, two playgrounds, and an assembly room for community events. Lowrance oversees operation with a board including H C Pender and J Ray Dickey. Dennehy Construction built the fireproof concrete blocks project started last March.
